Bee in Lotus

WHO WE ARE

Char Selsvold, Diane Magliolo, Susan Elizabeth Hale

CHAR SELSVOLD - "Beautiful Dreamer"

Char SelsvoldIn 1994, I began to imagine leading small groups of people to share my love of travel, mythology, and nature while reading the Mayan creation myth called the "Popol Vuh" at an ecotourism resort in the Yucatan of Mexico. The embers of my own creativity and dreams were ignited. The next year, my first group of 12 women came for a beach sojourn at the same ecotourism resort, experiencing Mayan culture, exploring dreams and reconnecting to their own prana or life source and creativity. This initiated a shift in my own consciousness. A life long love of mythology and several years of study at the Denver Jung Institute created a deeper appreciation for other cultures and the mythic imagination. In 2007, my 29 year off and on practice of yoga deepened after immersing myself in the "Deep Yoga Master of Life Teacher Training" from Bhava and Sundari (Laura) Ram. I am now a Registered Yoga Teacher, RYT and complement my healing practice as a mindfully based psychotherapist, LCSW, with yoga therapy.   Blue Bee Odysseys is a gift from my "Beautiful Dreamer." "Beautiful Dreamer" is an old song written by Stephen Foster in the mid 1800s. The song revealed itself as a guide from my unconscious while doing some healing work with Susan Hale in 1999.

Why Blue Bee?

I was reading about the plight of bees; their recent rapid decline due to global warming, pollution and other factors. We will not survive without bees pollinating fruit trees and vegetables. Preservation of bees is critical. Bees have been an important part of folklore since ancient times. I was particularly struck by the image of Vishnu in Hindu mythology as sometimes seen as a Blue Bee emerging from a lotus flower. The lotus is an ancient symbol of life. Vishnu is known as the "preserver" in the Hindu pantheon of Gods. Honey is the food of the "Gods." BlueBee Odysseys hopes to contribute to the preservation of Bees, the Earth, and all living species.

SUSAN ELIZABETH HALE - Songkeeper, Pathfinder, Dreamweaver

Susan Elizabeth HaleSusan Elizabeth Hale, is an internationally renowned music therapist, sound healer and author of 2 books including Sacred Sound, Sacred Space, The Acoustic Mysteries of Sacred Spaces. I met Susan while I was living in Taos, New Mexico. She told me about a dream she had; "I saw a medieval knight and a lady entombed in a crypt under a Gothic cathedral. The lady sprung to life and started speaking to me in French, then switched to English and told me to 'follow the Lady of the Roses and her music.' The lady said the word 'Languedoc', the French home of the medieval troubadours." I knew that I must study and work with Susan. Susan is a creative being of light, offering healing to the people around her and the world. She will be offering workshops and private sessions in the UK and northern Italy in 2011. She awakened the "Beautiful Dreamer" within me. I am delighted that the "Lady of the Roses" is now guiding her to Sicily.
