Yoga Odyssey in Sicily

Sicily is a magical island with a life force that has drawn people for centuries in search of renewal and enrichment. There are Arab, Byzantine, and Norman cathedrals and there is the Scala dei Turchi, a natural cathedral of stunning white limestone sculpted by the the wind and sea for centuries. Your yoga odyssey will be on the rugged westernTemple Juno coast of Punta Grande at Casa Juliani, just a short walk on the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea from the Scala dei Turchi and a 2000 yr old Roman villa. The magnificent Greek Valley of the Temples, 650 BC is in nearby Agrigento. The first evening of the odyssey will be in Palermo, Sicily, a city surrounded by mountains and sea, with magnificent art, architecture, and cuisine

Greek SoldierOur twice daily practice of gentle Hatha yoga on the beach just outside your door at Casa Juliani will be deepened by an an exploration of the body through Greek myth, especially the myth of Demeter and Persophone. This myth of descent, withdrawal of the senses and then renewal is perhaps what many of us need to recharge our lives. Join us in a slow travel yoga adventure. We will make excursions to see the art and culture of Sicily as well as eat some of best cuisine in the world. Punta Grande

Casa Juliani is the ancestral home of our hosts, the Marchetta family. Each apartment is charming with their own bathrooms and kitchen, all facing the Mediterranean Sea. The Marchetta family honors the values of sustainability, working to preserve Punta Grande's natural beauty in many ways.
