FESTIVALS OF BHUTAN
Bhutanese religious festivals are held in the Dzongs, a combination of medieval fortresses and monasteries, located in the villages at various times of the year. Colorful costumed, masked dances are performed honoring the life of Padmasambhava and other Buddhist saints. The dances act out oral history and mythology, providing guidance on conducting ones life. Local people attend in their beautiful traditional clothing.
Two festivals or tsechus have been chosen for 2011.
Wangdue Tshechu - Oct. 2-10, 2011
Cost: $4075 Per Person
Trashigang Tsechu - November 23 - December 6, 2011
